May 27, 2006 - Yard Sale Run - Tipton, OK
With our daughter home for the holiday weekend, and always looking for any excuse we can find to go riding, we headed over to check out the city-wide yardsale in Tipton.  Trouble is, it's scheduled for next weekend.  Ooops!  Our Bad!  Oh well, we got our ride anyway, and even had time to stop by Lake Frederick to check out the water.  It's still there, so we headed back to Frederick to go to a couple of yardsales back in town.  The daughter took her first ride on brother's Harley Davidson Softail on this trip.  It may be hard to keep her off of it now.  I think she liked it!

Mar 18, 2006 - Rain Run - Geronimo, OK
Somebody threw a Benefit Poker Run that began and ended in Geronimo, Oklahoma.  It just happened that the event got scheduled on the weekend that we got rain for the first time in 5 months.  Not a problem.  We have needed rain bad enough that we may just have to thank the Poker Run folks for bringing the rain that we've needed so desperately, if they had anything to do with it.  Keep in mind, that we both have perfectly good rain suits to wear in the rain, but for some reason, we decided to make this run in just our leathers.  We wanted to ride in the first rain to hit this area in such a long time, and what better way to do it than to get all of the butterfly guts from last October's run down through south Texas washed off of your leathers?  We paid for the Poker Run, but decided instead of running the route, we'd head back home to get warmed up and dried off.  We had a really great (wet) time!  The photos are "fuzzy' because we shot them with the digital camera in a plastic bag in the rain.

Mar 11, 2006 - Cabin Fever Run - Manitou, OK
After having lunch at the local Sonic, we made a short loop around through Tipton and Manitou Oklahoma, to help relieve some of the cabin fever that has been building.  We enjoyed meeting and visiting with the folks that have the Tipton Grocery Store.  They're still recovering from roof damage that occurred last Fall.  Then, we rode on to Lake Frederick and checked out the main camping area.  Things were kind of slow there, but we were killing time before going to the Quilt Show in Manitou, Oklahoma.  The ladies hand-sew the quilts to give to disadvantaged children.  How cool is that?  After enjoying our visit with the Church Ladies, we made a stop at the local Quick Stop, and headed on back home.

Jan 1, 2006 - Cheers Run - Porter Hill, OK
Our January 1, 2006 run went to Silvia's Rock Island Club in Porter Hill, OK again this year, to toast in the new year with friends.  The group met up at the Love's Store at the Medicine Park exit on I-44 north of Lawton, and then made a stop at Chaps My Ass motorcycle accessory store in Medicine Park, OK to check out the stock of biker goodies.  A couple of Guineas were there to welcome us with loud cackling.  The group rode on over to Silvia's for a toast to the coming riding season.  Silvia's used to be called "Mamma Jo's", and has always been similar to the pub featured in the Cheers TV show to those of us that live in this area.  The temperature was great, in the mid-70's, but it got a little windy, with 40-45 mph winds and gusts to 55 mph.  The last two photos give an idea of how much dirt was in the air.  It's about 3 o'clock in the afternoon in those photos. but it looks like sunset.
