CD & Bear's Cruiser
Rides 2004
Take a ride with us to see where
we've been lately!
Runs are listed newest first
from the top down.
(We don't always take photos,
but when there are some, click on an image for a larger view.)
December 31, 2004 -
Year-end Run - Chickasha, OK |
| We took Bear's new "Bronc" out for a
little exorcise with some fuel system cleaner (SeaFoam) in the tank to try to get it
"de-gunked". Another couple from Anadarko joined us to exorcise their
bikes a little for a last ride of the year, and out of the 4 bikes, only Bear's
"Bruiser" (the one we're replacing) made the whole day without having problems.

October
09-17, 2004 - Roar by the Shore - S. Padre Island, TX |
8 Days |
1792 Miles |
2 Bikes |
| After trying for three years, CD
& Bear finally made it to the Roar by the Shore Rally on South Padre
Island, TX. In past years, something always came up to interfere with the run, and the
opportunity to ride motorcycles in Mexico. Well, this year it finally worked out, and CD
& Bear are now International Motorcyclists! After
visiting the kids in Plano TX (just north of Dallas), and taking in a 2-day training
session in San Antonio, the ride to South Padre Island and Nuevo Progreso Mexico turned
out to be a heck of a ride. Bear got side-swiped by a young woman in a SUV on the way down
through New Braunfels TX, but she didn't go down and there was minimal damage to her bike.
The 30-mile ride in Mexico from Los Indios TX to Nuevo Progreso MX turned out to be safer
than riding in the USA for this trip. And you hear about how people drive crazy in
Mexico... |

02, 2004 - Help-A-Biker Run - Porter Hill, OK |
| Not wanting to pass up a chance to
get together with friends for a motorcycle ride, and help out a downed biker at the same
time, CD & Bear participated in a Benefit Poker Run that started in OKC and ended up
at Porter Hill, OK. |

11, 2004 - Casino Run - Lawton, OK |
| Still healing up from the Sturgis
Run, and with the cast now off of Bear's throttle hand, we couldn't pass up the 1st
Annual United We Ride Poker Run and Concert sponsored by the Comanche
Tribe. The poker run took us to four area Casinos, a flag run to the Ft Sill National
Cemetery, and ended with a concert featuring John Kay and Steppenwolf. |

8-15, 2004 - Black Hills Rally - Sturgis, SD |
| After enjoying a few days in the
Four Corners area, we headed out for our second ride to Sturgis, SD. Mechanical problems
hampered this run, and led to medical problems that eventually cut our run short, but not
until after we had gotten to Sturgis and beyond. Bear fell while helping to push-start
CD's bike, and shattered her throttle hand pinky finger. With electrical problems
side-lining CD's bike, and a half-cast from the tip of her fingers to midway on Bear's
forearm, it was time to call the oldest son to come and get us for a ride in the truck and
trailer back to Oklahoma. |

3-8, 2004 - Home Run - Arboles, CO |
| Knowing that a scheduling conflict
was going to keep us from making the annual 4 Corners Rally on Labor Day weekend, we
worked in a run to the Ignacio, CO area to see family and friends. |

12, 2004 - Jimbo Moddrell Rally - Chickasha, OK |
| We didn't get any photos of the
actual event, but on the way to Chickasha through Cement OK, we got to help direct traffic
at the scene of an accident on a blind corner. ;-) |

9 days (7
nights camping, 1 motel) |

The trip included
a rain shower while on the road, and a thunderstorm while in camp at Austin. The only
other thing that was not pleasant about the entire trip was the chiggers that we picked up
in Austin. They like to ate us up! Still, when the itching stops, we'll be ready to go
again. |
