Rodeo2000 The events started early Saturday morning. It was a pleasure to watch the contestants in action.
The Speed Climbing event turned out to be my favorite, and I was able to get a couple of photos of "slips" during the event. Both of these contestants were able to get their feet back into the pole and continue on to complete their event. If you've never "cut-out" while climbing, you may not realize how much strength it takes to get your gaffs back into the pole while holding yourself in place... especially when you find both of your feet are on the same side of the pole. I was impressed with all of the climbers, but these two in particular, for their "recovery" and continuation.
Here are a few more shots that I took during the day. You really should try to get to the Lineman's Rodeo some year. I had been wanting to go for years, and finally took the time to go. I was not disappointed. I hope to return again.
The photos are kind of "grainy", but I decided to go for speed at the cost of quality. Take time to attend the International Lineman's Rodeo at Kansas City. You'll like it. To learn more about the Rodeo, go HERE |
